Total Learning Minutes

In addition to skill level mastery, I track and grade my students' total learning minutes on a weekly basis in order to promote continuous skill improvement. In the past this was useful due to the "average response" calculation. It seems now Khan is recording "screen time". I now see absolutely no work completed yet up to 43 minutes of what I call, "Effort" minutes.

My question is... Is Total Learning Minutes a resource you use? If so is this skewing your data as well? If so again, how have you managed it?

Hello Mr. Neyen,

As you may know, in 2019 we’ve implemented a new Progress view into all Student dashboards. The reason behind this update was to give our learners a more consistent and clear definition of time recorded across the platform. However, this new view also means that some of the old reports have been removed.

If you click on your student's username to go to their dashboard, then click on the “Progress” tab in the left-hand navigation bar, you will be redirected to your student's Individual Student report.

This view will show you exercise minutes, total learning minutes, and an activity log and can be sorted by time frame, material, and type of activity. This article adds further context on the way we track progress and time spent working on the platform; it also unpacks what our new reports look like and a way to navigate them.
