Where Are the Middle School Science Resources?

Thank you for posting. I definitely agree with you that there's quite a gap in provided Khan Academy content. A specific course tailored for grades 6-8 would definitely be a great addition.

To answer your question in the post title, formally, there aren't courses specifically for middle school, but a lot of the content in the main science courses (simply titled with their subject, ex. "Biology") covers skills and concepts learned during middle school, so there is certainly content that is available for use. Note that there is also additional partner content that one can pick and choose content from based on what they're currently learning (or just watch for fun).

Although that content is there, it doesn't replace a course specifically created for grades 6-8 and designed to be used by only students in those grades, so if you decide to use that content, it may be necessary to focus on specific content relevant to middle school education standards. You can refer to the Next Generation Science Standards website for that information. This should be a help in focusing on content that is most relevant in those expansive 'central' science courses available on Khan Academy.

I've seen previous posts asking about middle school content and suggestions for adding a special set of middle school courses, so you're not alone. I'll escalate this thread to the team to make sure they are reminded of this and have it on their radar.
