Program Auto-Saving, Ability to hide WIP's

I’m not sure about the reliability, but new programs automatically save if you don’t save them manually. It won’t save the program as a project, but rather it will insert the code into the next new program you make.

So if I type out some code in a new, unsaved, program and then exit out of the tab, I can click a new program button and open up an editor filled with the code I had written.

However, it does have a few disadvantages. You can only work on one of each language of WIP at a time. Also, it isn’t completely reliable.

I doubt Khan Academy will add a WIP hiding feature though. Khan Academy is for learning, not for seeking programming fame(which is all that a WIP hider would help).

Hey Quinn! Yes, I do know about auto-saving New programs, but it’s very unreliable. Many times it hasn’t saved my work, and it’s not worth the risk. How would a WIP hider help gain Programming fame?

I don't think that auto-saving is such a good idea.
I've had times were I completely break my code so I have to go back to the last time I saved.

Sorry, I didn’t see your comment for some time. A WIP hider would make it that much easier for programs to be surprises. The bigger surprise a program is or e more people anticipate it without knowing what it will be like, the more votes it will end up with. More votes equals more fame. KA doesn’t want us to program to be famous here, but instead to program so we can learn.

But if we were able to manually hide WIP’s from the HL, it would help keep junky and unfinished programs off the HL.

I don’t think so. Junky and unfinished programs only get to the hotlist because there aren’t any awesome and finished programs to get there. We don’t need to be able to hide WIP, we need to be able to make better programs if we want the hotlist to improve.
