Exponents
Answered
I had a question on my test to put -(4)^3 in expanded form. I put the answer as -(4)x-(4)x-(4). Would this be acceptable
I need an answer ASAP!!!
Yes, I believe this would be acceptable, since -(4)^3 would be -(4)*-(4)*-(4), not -(4)*3 (a common mistake when using exponents).
so what if other people put -4×-4x-4
would that answer be wrong or correct as well
Yes, that would be correct.
so you would get full marks if you put any of the two answers
its cuz my tutor told me that the answer I put would be wrong so I really want to know if what answer I put is actually correct.
Since the negative sign was outside the parentheses in the original problem, I would say to keep it like that so it would be marked as correct.
Thank you so much!
