Update: The Refreshed Learner Home Page

We've finished rolling out the new Learner Home experience, so you should all now be able to see and enjoy it.

We wanted to give you a tour of the new features so that you can get the most of your work, so let's dive in:

Quicker, Easier Navigation

The left navigation menu now makes it easier for you to distinguish between courses you're taking independently, and any assignments or mastery goals you've been assigned by a teacher or coach.

If you're a student in a class, it has its own section in the navigation menu, and your My Courses page does as well.

Speaking of classes, it's also easier to figure which mastery goals and assignments you need to work on, and which are old or past due.

Lastly, we've gathered your accomplishments into one place for easier reference -- now you can find all of your discussions, awards, badges, and projects on your Profile page, under My Account.

Finally, you have acknowledged this awful new change to the Khan Academy Home Page (dare we hope that calling it a "Dashboard" has gone away) here in the Support Community. I had been meaning to post my dislike of this change here in the Support Community, but I've had other things going on lately.

My two biggest gripes:

1. The side menu takes room away from seeing as many of my courses as possible in one screen view.

2. There's no way that I've found to get to my profile in one step from an interior page. It's no longer an option under my name in the top righthand corner. It has been replaced by Learner Home, which just brings me to the Home Page, where I then have to select Profile. And then I have to go through steps (which may work by using the Back button) to get back to the interior page where I had been.

You can fix these two gripes by:

1. Making it possible to hide that intruding side menu. And also remember that setting when I return the next time.

2. Restore the profile option to the menu under my name.

But I do commend you for referring it to a "Home Page" instead of a "Dashboard" in the title of this post.

I am excited about these new changes as Khan Academy continues to grow and improve! One suggestions would be to make the profile page more spaced out- perhaps by the vertical menu to the left a bit? I admit, when I first saw the new changes, I was a bit surprised, but I think it's started to grow on me :)
