If students take a quiz before I assign it, how do I see their results?

If students take a quiz before I assign it, how do I see their results? It's listed as not taken. They have to take it again for it to show up on my screen...that's annoying, if I'm their coach and they have taken any assignment or quiz or test, I should be able to view it (even without technically assigning it). Students are getting ahead in content and it's punishing them~

I am having this trouble too. I have a student who is moving from a colleague's class to mine and he has done some of the work I have assigned, but his results are not visible to me. This is very frustrating for both student and teacher.

I'm wondering the same thing: If a student completes some self-paced problems ahead of the class, and then I give it as an assignment, how do I get their scores for their assignments without having them do them again?

My comment is similar. When students take a quiz (which is the next logical step after completing lessons, etc) which I have not specifically assigned them, I don't seem to be able to see the result.

That doesn't make sense to me.
