I was trying to do an algebra practice on the iPad app the other day, and when you tap to type in the answer to the problem, a special keyboard comes up that has numbers and buttons for writing exponents, fractions, square roots, and things like that. But it didn't have letters, so I couldn't put variables in the answer. Can this get fixed? Or is there a way to do it in the app that I'm missing?

Hey Eden! Thanks for reaching to us with your query! Let me help you out. You want put variables in your answer like 'x', 'y' or 'z' etc in your answer and its not showing up in the pop up box but did you try to insert variable with help of your iPad keyboard?

I am using Android on a Galaxy Note 9.
When trying to enter a variable (X, y, t, etc) I am unable to pull up an alphabetic menu.
There are menus available (sin, cousin, greater than, less than, numbers, add, subtract, multiply, divide, but no letters..Help!!!!, errors. In practice and master tests because of this issue!!!
I heard from support yesterday. If you hold on the variable button (there should be one variable option available to you on the app keypad) a menu will pop up that will give you the option of other variables, depending on your options in the math problem. I tried this and it works.
I just discovered what Erin says yesterday after failing many Trig quizzes because I couldn't enter Pi.
There'll be a key with an "x" at the bottom left of the first screen that pops up when you tap in the answer box. This "x" button will have a really tiny, light grey triangle in its top right corner. Holding the "x" button will pop up an option for Pi.
I don't like it because it gives you a hint. The little grey triangle won't appear for answers that don't have Pi in them, which is a big cheat sometimes.
