I can't help but respond to this article; it just doesn't sit right with me...

So basically the upshot is, "We know about these problems, we're just not going to fix them?"

I'm a software developer, so I understand that cross-platform development has its difficulties and that not every bug is trivial to fix, but I also know that saying "the iPad doesn't support these simple graphical functions" is simply dishonest.

I really appreciate the work y'all do. That said, It really bums me out that KA is making these kinds of lame excuses for not fixing these very serious UX problems. I've noticed that the iPad app doesn't even have an option for reporting issues - as if ignoring the problems will make them go away.

So yes, because I care about KA, I'm calling you out on this nonsense. Fix it and stop making excuses, or just admit that it isn't a priority for you. Pick one.

I've been a software developer, too, but mainly using a language called COBOL on mainframe computers made by IBM. My interpretation of this page is that there are technological barriers on the iPad that Khan Academy has been unable to get around with coding. Perhaps future enhancements from Apple will address some of these issues.

I have found several other iPad app bugs that I have reported to Khan Academy. I am not holding my breath for them to be fixed any time soon.

User case: I sit at a computer all day. The last thing I want to do is to used my laptop at night to brush up on math skills. So I use the iPad app, only I regularly encounter issues with the app. One issue is the app does not see my entry, so it refuses to Check my answer and I cannot complete a unit test. In other word, the bugs in the app are so serious they sabotage my ability to advance. Plese address your iOS issues. A huge percentage of students use Apple. Thank you.
