How can my students view only and simply what I have specifically assigned them to do?

I am a Math teacher; new to using Khan.

Last week I gave some assignments to my Algebra 1 students. These were from both some Pre Algebra and some Algebra sections of Khan.

My students said they had trouble figuring out what my assignments were. I sat down with a student to help him and . . . yikes! After clicking all around, and googling it, I couldn't figure it out either! Khan keeps pointing him back to the long list of all Pre Algebra and Algebra videos / exercises /quizzes.

How can my students view only and simply what I have specifically assigned them to do?

When a student signs in, they should get a screen that lists upcoming assignments (see below for student view). If any Mastery subjects have been assigned, they might have to scroll down a little bit. They can also click Assignments near the center. The advantage of that is they will get an option for current or past assignments...great for reworking or studying for a quiz or test.

Since you are new to Khan, I would suggest making yourself a course like I've done. I simply call it Sandbox, and it my place to play around. I have one student in the class...me! I can click on my name in the upper right of a page and switch to Learning Home view to see things as a student. It really helps me to see what I'm doing even though I'm not new to Khan...a lot of things have changed!
