I've tried reading the instructions several times, but they are so confusing and I just am not understanding how to assign topics to my children.

All I want is a simple place where I see my children's accounts (yes, I have them set up already and I think I'm their coach - if I did that right) and from there I assign them what I want them to do. But when I read the instructions I have to set up a class (why do I have to set up a class, why can't I just assign topics?), then go here and do this, then go there and do that. It's just WAY TOO complicated. I need super easy. Click, click, I'm done.

Hi Icewoman,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with this! Unfortunately, you need to have your children in a class in order to assign them topics. Here's how to get them in a class:

1. Go to https://www.khanacademy.org/coach/dashboard

2. Click "Add new class"

3. Follow the prompt that pops up, when you get to page 2, select "General" or skip it.

4. After that screen, you'll see a screen displaying your class code. Make sure to save that code somewhere, because you'll need it in the next step.

5. Log into your child's account, and go to https://khanacademy.org/profile/me/coaches. Once you're there, enter the class code from step 4 into the "Join a class" box.

After that, you should be able to assign your children assignments.
