Update: New discussions design!
Today we began to release an update to the discussions feature that allows you to comment under articles and videos, and everyone* should be seeing it by the end of this week. Much of what got updated is “under the hood” - invisible but functional updates that will allow our developers to more easily work on this area of the site in the future. But our most important updates were to the visual designs.
The discussion feature was a big part of the site in need of an update in order to make it more accessible to learners with different ability levels. This new design supports things like the ability to access all the controls using a keyboard, and includes better support for screen readers.

NEW:
These updated discussions will work mostly the same as the older ones - a significant exception being that the ability to edit and delete posts has been temporarily removed. The team will be working on discussions again in the coming months and will add those abilities back at that time, along with additional polish.
If you need a post edited or deleted before then, you can submit a support ticket requesting it and the team will work with you on that. We’re disappointed that we weren’t able to get this functionality in during this first phase, but other than that we hope you like the new look!
*Non-English languages should see this rolled out in the coming weeks, and programming content and projects will still use older discussions designs for now.
