Grading revisited

Not a solution but a work-around.  I have a simple Google form (name, bell, Khan Academy assignment/quiz/test name) for students to submit when they improve something and need me to take a look.  I have it set to notify me when there are new responses, and it is pretty easy to check the spreadsheet to see what I should look for.  I needed something to notify me to look, and this does the trick.  We use Schoology, and I have the Google form available there at all times.

OHT Hi jaeger. I like Amy's work around and I may use something like that this year. If you are comfortable with spreadsheets, you can also create your own reports. Go to the Coach/Teacher Dashboard and click on a Class. On the Class page, click on the Settings tab. One of the Settings titles is Download Student Data; click on Download CSV. When there is little student data this is quick. When there is a lot of student data, this can take a while. In any case, I open the CSV file in Excel and by using various filters I can create all kinds of reports. One of which could be to see only records of students who did something since last week. If there date of their best score was in the last week, I'd have a probable list of students who had improved.

I have also had students email me a screen shot of their improved score. This works better with older students who are concerned with their grades.
