I wanted to enter (x^2/33 - y^2/26 = 1 (which is also the answer for this question)) but it doesn’t have a way to type the y portion of my answer. I also need both symbols (x and y) for the rest of the “equation of a hyperbola from features” exercise. How do I get both of these symbols on the same keyboard? Or do they need to add that? Thanks
Evan, thanks for taking the time to answer. The solution you have provided to the original poster here is one that someone here also provided to me. Unfortunately, on the iPad platform, even though there is a tiny arrow in the top right corner of the key with the “x”, holding it down to make the “y” appear does not work. This includes sliding it in various directions. Before this type of keypad was made available for iPad exercises, unit quizzes, and unit tests, I had encountered it in iPad articles and on the web site. In those platforms, I intuitively found the second variable by sliding, so I knew to try it when it popped up in the exercises, etc., on the iPad. But it doesn’t work.
Sarthak, to get past this, you will need to complete this exercise and any others that use multiple variables (such as both x and y) or the Euler’s constant e and a variable on the web version of Khan Academy. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can use Safari or another browser on your iPad to get there.
