What is the difference between JavaScript and C++ in language?

Well, first off you do have to know that a lot of the code languages you will encounter will have roughly the same...I guess...things they can tell the computer? (lost the word) These include looping, creating functions, control flow (if/else), etc. To what I know, both are roughly OOP (Object-Oriented Programing) languages.

Second thing you should know, the two languages serve two completely different purposes. JavaScript is best known for putting the interactivity into websites, but it can be used to serve other functions. C++ used for...quite a lot of things actually. But mainly C++ is known for interacting with things like operating systems or drivers (Source: Quora).

From my current knowledge, as I'm still learning C++, there is *a lot* to learn, and the two languages don't differ too much. Learning JS will definitely help understand C++ concepts, and I'm pretty sure I can say about the other way around.

Frankly, which is the better language depends on your purpose and preference. I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Are they the same language? - Definitely not, there are languages like ActionScript that follow the same standard (ECMAScript), C++ is _not_ one of them it has it's own standard (that has changed over the years)

Same function? - Not typically. As TheLuckyRobot mentioned JS is primarily used for making websites "dynamic" though recently with the creation of things like node.js and electron it has been used for more purposes. C++ is typically for lower level tasks that need to be fast, things like operating systems and device drivers, routers and military hardware, as well as media processing and games.

Same codes? - over all, no, definitely not. If it's not the same language they're not going to be the same code

Or code that look the same but not? - they both have syntax that is heavily derived from the C language so some of the basics look the same and may of the control structures are the same eg. if(condition) { callSomeFunction(); } else while(some.Condition) { for( some.Var = 0; some.Var < 15; some.Var++) break; }.

Are they have the same format to each other? - Not sure what "format" means here... Both allow an Object Oriented approach to programming however C++ requires a bit more memory management than JS does, though less than C due to it's reliance upon "destructors" that run when an object goes out of scope. Partially due to this it doesn't have just one concept of a "number" it has at least 6 (sizes are typical, they can be different on different devices, other than for char which is defined as 1 byte), char (1 byte), short (2 bytes), int (4 bytes), float(4 bytes), and double (8 bytes), The first 4 are integer types which can not store decimals like 2.142 only whole numbers -1,0,1,2,3 etc. (there are unsigned versions that can store twice as many positive values) the last two can (but do not have unsigned versions). In contrast JS tends to only have doubles or at the least as a programmer you can act as if it does. The reason is that working with integers is easier and faster (there's just less work to do), and getting memory from RAM to the CPU and back is one of the major bottlenecks in fast code now rather than the CPU itself.

Many if not most/all Computer Science concepts apply to all languages so learning any language can make learning another easier, even drastically different ones like C and lisp (still have variables and functions that can be called etc).

As TheLuckyRobot mentioned, the better language depends on what you want to use it for and which you happen to like, or which your boss tells you you're going to use or you won't be working at that company any longer :D 

Hi Richard. C++ and JavaScript (JS) are very different languages. Here are some of the differences.

1. C++ is a compiled language. A C++ program gets converted to machine code and then executed by your computer. JS is an interpreted language. A JS program gets converted to bytecode which is executed by a virtual machine in the web browser. (JS can also be just-in-time compiled, but that's a more advanced concept.)

2. C++ has types. This means that when you declare a variable, you have to write down its type. JS is a dynamic language, meaning that you can omit types from your program. Recently, people have developed type systems for JS, such as TypeScript.

3. JS has garbage collection. This means that when your program allocates memory, this memory gets freed automatically when it's no longer used. C++ uses manual memory management, meaning that the programmer has to free memory explicitly. This situation has improved greatly since C++11, which provides smart pointers.

4. C++ and JS are used for different purposes, as mentioned in the previous answers. C++ is often used for low-level programming, and JS is often used on webpages.

There are many other differences, but these are the main ones.
