Hi,

I'm struggling with solving the following question. Can someone please help or let me know the best place on Khan Academy to ask a question like this..

I am given the following 3 joint probabilities:

p(I am leaving work early, there is a football game that I want to watch this afternoon) = .1

p(I am leaving work early, there is not a football game that I want to watch this afternoon) = .05

p(I am not leaving work early, there is not a football game that I want to watch this afternoon) = .65

What is the probability that there is a football game that I want to watch this afternoon?

Hello Tajeshwar Khara,

Let me write it down in a more clear way:

p (early and football) = 0.1

p (early and not football) = 0,05

p (not early and not football) = 0.65

as you see, there is one possible combination missing. Which one is it? You can determine its probability, because the sum of all possible combinations is one (or 100%, it's the same).
