High School Language Arts

How do you use the Language Arts curriculum on Khan? What would a schedule look like using reading/vocabulary, grammar, and writing? I saw a writing coach but do you make up your own writing assignments or are they integrated throughout the course? I'm specifically looking at 9th grade. The reading/vocabulary portion only covers 6 units. That's not enough for 1 credit of High School Language Arts.
