Content Update: Introducing Get Ready for SAT Prep: Math!
Hi everyone, Alex from the Support team here!
I’m excited to introduce Get Ready for SAT Prep: Math, a new course designed to help you strengthen the fundamental math skills needed for SAT success.
Is this course for you?
Consider Get Ready for SAT Prep: Math if any of the following apply to you:
✅ You struggle with Foundations-level skills in our Digital SAT Math course; some lessons and exercises feel too challenging.
✅ You scored below 500 on a recent PSAT/NMSQT or SAT Math test (practice or official).
✅ You’re in 10th grade or below and want to start early on PSAT/NMSQT or SAT prep.
Think of this course as a pre-prep step—once you master these skills, you’ll be ready to tackle the Foundations level in our SAT Math course!
How to use this course effectively
- Work through the lessons and exercises to fill in any skill gaps.
- At the end of each unit, take the quiz to check if you're ready for the Foundations level in the SAT Math course.
- If you pass the quiz, you can move on! If not, go back and review the videos and exercises before trying again.
- You may see some skills already show mastery or progress toward mastery: this is because the "Get Ready" exercises also appear across other Khan Academy math courses, so your existing mastery progress on those exercises transfers over.
Who should skip this course?
If you’re in 11th grade or taking the SAT in six months or less, we recommend going straight to SAT Math prep:
- Take a practice SAT using College Board’s Bluebook app.
- Review your score.
- Start with Foundations-level skills in our Digital SAT Math course, working from most missed to least missed topics.
- Move onto Medium and Advanced to master all the SAT Math skills at every difficulty level that you’ll encounter on the SAT.
- Take additional practice tests on College Board’s Bluebook app at regular intervals throughout your SAT prep journey (about one practice test a month is ideal).
If you come across a Foundations skill that feels challenging, that’s a great time to use the corresponding unit in Get Ready for SAT Prep: Math for extra support. This will help you build confidence and strengthen your understanding before moving forward.
Remember: Mastering the fundamentals is key to long-term success! 🚀
