Students Work Not Appearing In Reports

Hi Billy-

I do know that "my computer isn't working" or "Khan has a bug" is a frequent fall-back excuse for many of my students.  It has rarely been the case that it was true.  Could you share in more detail what the "assignment" was that they were supposed to be working on?  Was this a coach recommendation?  If their activity is showing up- and other students were able to complete the work (topic) then I would guess you might have some creative excuses going on.  Have you tried having them complete a different assignment in your presence and then showing them your coach report so they are able to see the detail that you can access?

Anyway- any additional details you can give me might help me pinpoint the problem better.

I am having a similar problem but I know that my students are telling the truth. I worked on several assignments with one of my students and it did not register. Is there something that we can do to correct this issue? Thank you

II am going to puch these concerns onto the real techies at Khan- they will probably ask for more specific user detail so they can really look into the specific problem- so if you could start compiling user names, topic names, dates this occurred - that will help you be ready when I get back to you with whom you should send your info to...

This is currently happening to me. I have one student who has said this happened in years prior with her account. I show that she is missing every problem she attempts, and uses a hint. She has screen shots with her username showing energy points and check marks that she has completed the 5 in a row I recommended. She is very frustrated and I understand! Hoping to find more answers. She is going to share her screen shots with me so that I can pass them on to the tech people here at Khan.

Hi there, I am having the same problem with Calculus students.  I assign some skills and some of them constantly show that they haven't even been on, yet they log on through the email I have for them and give recommendations for them through.  This is frustrating because I want to use KA for classwork/homework but I am getting tired of having kids take pictures to prove to me that they did the work. 

Is there some other way for me to try to check?

Shortly after I made this post, I actually discovered the problem.  Students are cheaters.

I had to trick one of them into admitting it and showing me how they were doing this and it is pretty ingenious.  Khan Academy closed the loophole where kids could log into two devices and use hints on one while putting the answer into another.  However, it did not stop the second device from showing a screen that claimed they had completed the assignment.

This was why it showed no work on my report but they had a screenshot of Khan Academy being completed.  Children are sneaky and lazy.  It was a disappointing realization, as it was some of my best students doing it.  

I get the cheating part but I am watching my Calculus students log in and it is not showing up!

Could you share the details of the accounts that are doing this?  I could use screen shots of the students accoutns that are not showing activity as well as their usernames.  Please send as much detail as possible (times, what you noticed, screenshots, usernames).

I will forward this detail to the impressive team at Khan and see if they can figure out what is going on...

I am having the same problem.  My roster shows 32 students but only 29 show up in the Assignment Report.  I am watching them do the assignment and it is not showing up.  I have tried removing and reading the students.  This is happening in another class as well and happened last year.  I am anxious for a solution to this problem.

I am very interested in hearing the solution when you get one- so do you mind posting back when this is figured out?  IN my experience, the only time that activity is not recorded for multiple problem attempts - the students has had another device that they are simultaneously logged into (and taking hints on) and the completion/activity will not show up when that is the case.  I am so curious to hear if your problem is something new -s o please share out when you are able.
