PRINTABLE Student Reports?
How can I print Detailed individual Progress Reports on each student? (I.e., something I can give to a parent at a parent conference)
Hi Tim, My name is Megan Grochowiak and I Khan Academy Ambassador and math teacher in Chicago. Printing out individual student progress reports for parents for conference night is a great idea! There currently isn't a downloadable report for each individual students, however, I have an idea to share to get around that. If you go into your coach student progress reports and filter the report for the marking period, you will see your students displayed on the lefthand side of the the report. The individual student usernames are linked to their activity over that marking period and if you click on their usernames, you will be to view the the student's activity on Khan Academy in their respective mission. You can see what percentage of the mission they have completed as well as detailed report of the skills they have Practiced, Level 1, Level 2, Mastered and are Struggling with. These skills are color coded too. The time (clock icon) they have practiced these skills is also listed on the report and parents like seeing this as well. You can screenshot this report and print it out for the parents and use it as your Khan Academy Progress Report! You would have to repeat the same process for each individual student in the class. It's a great idea Tim and I think I will be doing it for Progress Reports at my school. Hope this helps!
Thank you, Megan! Very helpful. At least I know NOT to waste time looking for a printable report. I'm very familiar with the onscreen progress report....Just wishing that was printable.
Your screenshot idea is a good one! Thx!
This PDF shows you how to download reports
How did you get into the student progress report? I can't even get into that. I wanted to show parents something during conferences as well and I can't find anything that doesn't show other students' work.
Hello Denise! If you click the Assignments tab > By student and then click on a student's name you'll get a summary of what they've completed with regard to your assignments (see image below). Please let me know if you have any further questions, comments, or suggestions. Thank you for posting.
Hi, I homeschool my daughter, and we are about to start taking classes for high school through an online program. I wanted to use the work she did on Khan Academy to supplement my documentation on her progress in Algebra, however, apparently over the past year since she completed the Algebra portion on Khan you added more lesson content, so her percentage completed has dropped dramatically. Is there a way to get a report for her work from when we completed it? I can't find any way to contact Khan Academy directly.
As a high school teacher I cannot understand why KA programmers cannot give us a method to download the grades to a clean editable Excel spreadsheet. Currently it is impossibleto get a format like a teachers grade book that shot just shows assignments as columns with individual grades per student. It is hard to put them into the school grade book program. A view like the score report displayed under assignments would be great! Proagrammers should look at reports from MYMATHLAB, Deltamath etc. to see what is useful.
Yeah, I actually emailed support. I got ridiculous answers that they don’t ever intend khan academy to be anyone’s sole resource for their homeschool education. Except that they have this page: https://www.khanacademy.org/resources/parents-mentors-1/homeschool-with-khan-academy/a/start-homeschooling-with-khan-academy
I really wanted Khan Academy to work out for us. My daughter used this for homework assignments (assigned by the teacher) when she was still in public school. More times than not, shed complete the homework and the teacher would have no record of it and shed lose credit. I couldn't even print proof other than screenshots which use a stupid amount of ink, printing irreverent colored banners. Now that shes homeschooled we tried the screenshot method, which the reviewer was not impressed with. I have to go back and have her complete a semesters worth of work. I understand Khan is free so it cannot offer everything, however it is one of the very first resources that come up for parents researching homeschool math. Khan claims this is great as a stand alone for homeschoolers or a supplement. Please do not recommend this as a stand alone going forward. It misleads parents and can lead to a lot of trouble in highly regulated states due to finding out to late the documentation is not sufficient for end of the year portfolio reviews. We would have gladly paid the $15 a month for Beast Academy or Teaching Textbooks instead. Considering public school teachers need to document everything and many rave about Khan, you would think there was a way to download a detailed pdf in a user friendly fashion for documentation purposes.
The old version of reports was great. I could see whether a student used hints or watched videos. These new reports show me absolutely no detail. It's sad that they actually made it worse.
Using Khan is great, grading is a nightmare because there is no clear printable way to get grades!
For those that still need this >>>
This is for "teachers".
1) Click on "Teacher Dashboard", click on the subject/class you want.
2) Under "Admin", click "Students". Click on your student.
3) There are 2 options. "Activity Log" (which isn't as printer friendly) and "Assignments" (this includes quizzes and tests, it is printer friendly). Click Assignments.
4) Near the bottom of the screen, you'll see "Load More". Click it until you no longer see it. Now, print the page using your browser "print" function.
TIP - You can exclude pages using your browsers print function if you don't want duplicates. Sometimes, it will be hard to avoid.
