Printing Student Usernames & Passwords

I understand that Khan sends an email when I create user accounts. However, this does not help me deliver the usernames and passwords to my 100 plus students.

Other websites I have used will generate sheets of cards with student ID and passwords that I can cut up and give to the students. It works well to print them on sticker paper and put them into student agendas.

This time around, I had to hand write their info on a sticker. Very time consuming!! I hope that Khan will address this logical issue for teachers soon.

Hello Kathleen! My name is Lisa Krueger and I am a Khan Academy Ambassador teaching in Chicago. I agree with you and Laurie this would be a great feature. I will pass it along to the Khan staff and see what I find out. One thing I've done in the past is use the Excel spreadsheet you can print from the Student Progress tab (there is a download button in the upper right hand corner). This produces a spreadsheet with usernames; however it does not have passwords. So, I would download the spreadsheet and insert the passwords. Then I would print spreadsheet off, cut strips, and tap into Agendas. I never thought to print on sticker paper, great idea! Hope this helps. Thanks for posting!

I am happy to report that a "wish list" is being created by the Khan Academy Ambassadors like myself based of the posts here in the Teacher & Coaches Support Community. If you agree with a post or are interested in the same feature please use the up arrow next to the comment to vote for that issue. The Khan Academy Ambassadors are relaying this information to the Khan Academy staff. Unfortunately, I can not give you a timeline of when or if this feature will be added. Hopefully, this helps and please keep posting.

I agree with the previous comment regarding printing usernames and passwords. Although the site has been recommended, it has not been user friendly. Time consuming and frustrating!

If you could elaborate on what aspects of the site are time consuming and frustrating maybe I can provide short cuts or work arounds or add them to the "wish list". The ability to do this would be very helpful. I am getting ready for summer vacation and would like to put this info into summer packets to give to my students.

Hello Jen! I completely agree this would be a great feature for teachers/coaches. I know it has been added to the 'wish-list' being compiled for the Khan Academy developers. You could try requesting the email again from Khan Academy with the class list of usernames & passwords using a Service Request ticket. Thank you for posting and Good Luck!

Yes, I agree. There needs to be somewhere that you can print your students usernames and passwords onto a card.

I noticed that teachers have been stating that they wish there was a place to print usernames and passwords for the past two years, but it doesn't seem like anything has been done about this!

Has this been added to Kahn yet?

Just about to write them for 80 kids. Please tell me there is a way of printing out cards for kids

I just sent a request asking for an email like Lisa suggested. Now, sit and wait. Hopefully it is something they can do.

As soon as you've finished creating your students' accounts from your Teacher Dashboard at Khan Academy, you'll be given the option to download a copy of student names, usernames, and passwords.

For privacy reasons, please note that you will only be able to download this list in this step. If you click skip you will not be able to download it later. Additional information can be found here.
