Please make it possible to see actual problems students struggle with!

I responded to a post that expressed your same frustration about a month ago.  Here is my response.  You might want to scroll through the Teacher and Coach Support posts and add your concern to that same thread.    In addition- this is addressed on the "Common Questions" section of the Khan Academy Help Center.  The link to the "official" reason this is missing from khan can be found at:

Hi Mr. Daas,

I hear exactly what you are saying and have felt the same frustration.  I know the people at Khan are listening - but, in the meantime, it might be a great idea to have your students keep their work in a notebook so they could circle the work (maybe in red) from a problem they got wrong so you WOULD be able to find what they did wrong.  I know my students avoid keeping their work organized and often like to just use a dry erase marker on the desk - but maybe encouraging a notebook when you are not around would be a temporary workaround for this problem.  Just a suggestion. 

I have the same concerns but for proper diagnostics, I also need to see the (written) working out that the students are doing. KA showing the question can't provide me with this visibility.

My current approach is to ask students who are having trouble with a skill (outside class) to photograph their working (with phone or webcam) and email me this photograph. This gives me better visibility of their thinking than just seeing the question could do.

Of course not all students do this consistently and seeing the specific questions would be an improvement on the status quo for helping these students.

Yes! This is so frustrating! Not to mention I watched a video called The Gate Notes: Insights into Students' Progress, where it states you CAN see the missed questions. What a LIE! Khan Academy has some good stuff but they are missing some major big picture items that classroom teachers need.

I wanted to simply clarify that the video you saw "The Gate Notes"  was not a lie.  There was time when this feature was available on Khan Academy.  It is my understanding that the number of bugs that existed made it a feature that had to be removed.  It is understandable that people want it back and that it would be a very helpful feature to a teacher.  However, the video you saw on the internet was clearly recorded when the feature still existed. 

Internally, this request is seen as one of our most asked-for requests from teachers, and I do believe we plan on adding it in some form.  It always helps to read peoples' comments and upvotes on threads like this, so thanks everyone for your thoughts so far.
