homeschooling
I homeschool my boys and would like to make assignments. Is there a way to do that even though I'm not associated with a public school?
Hi Katrina,
Khan Academy is not an accredited school and work done on the site does not count towards a diploma or degree program. Please be sure to be in contact with your state homeschooling organizations to be sure that you are meeting all requirements.
That said, Khan Academy is a great supplement to your normal schooling and a valuable resource for homeschooling families! Check out this page about using Khan Academy as a homeschooler. Our math content is aligned with the Common Core Standards, with exercises stretching from basic arithmetic through advanced calculus. We also have a variety of AP-aligned courses, and official SAT practice. At this time, we don't have content for elementary and middle school science or English classes, so you may need to find other resources for those subjects.
If you have specific requests for new homeschooling content, please use the Content request and Feedback forum where others can add their own thoughts to yours and can vote on your idea.
If you’re a parent who’d like to use Khan Academy in homeschool, this article will guide you through the process of creating accounts for you and your children, in addition to giving you detailed information on the full features of your Khan Academy accounts.
Hope that helps!
