I wanted to know if the increased or decreased amount of diffuse reflection off a surface of say a foam board increases or decreases the amount of heat transfer through the board. one response I got said "If thermal energy is reflecting off the board then there is no heat transfer to the board. So it doesn't matter whether the reflection is diffuse or otherwise. Either way there is no transfer." That does not make sense to me because you can still feel some warmth on the other side of the board. Also foam boards have different R Values.
How can we help?
