If (n+5), (2n+1), and (4n-3) are three consecutive terms of an arithmetic sequence, find n.
Answered
Can Someone please answer this? Thanks.
okay so common difference is same so
using our for formula
third term = first term + ( nth term-1)(the common difference (second term - first term) which is in this case (2n-1)- (n+5)= n-6)
4n-3= n+5+(3-1)(n-6)
4n-3=n+5+(2)(n-6)
4n-3=n+5+2n-12
4n-3=3n-7
4n-3n=-7+3
n=-4
welcome :) you could've find n quickly once you knew you equation by using your calculator shift solve but i wrote it in details hope you understand
Thanks a lot (:
