Hi Khan Academy!
I am a student in a university in the country of the Philippines. I am a freshman under the course of Information Technology major in Web and Mobile Applications. Since I am only a freshman and just entered my third term this summer, we have learned about the basics of programming starting with C++ instead of ordinary C. I have no background on programming whatsoever so it was very difficult to understand what my professor was talking about.
I particularly have a problem with understanding loops. while-loops, for-loops and all those jazz. Arrays I could still understand, to some point.
Our lesson now concerns Data Structures in C++. We are learning about stacks, queues, linked lists and probably a lot more.
My professor is not an IT but a Computer Science Professor, I am not saying she wasn't good, but she doesn't really teach programming well.
You see, we have 2 classes under programming, we have lecture, where everything is taught and written, and there is our laboratory where we do nothing but program.
The problem is my professor doesn't know how to teach in programming. She doesn't even show us the codes that were supposed to be used in programming. So far, we college students are trying to get by her exams by looking through google and making some changes in the program. Like changing the variables and changing a class to a void function or changing the conditions in if-else statements and so on and so forth.
Could you please lend me a hand?
I'm dying to finally understand my course!
And next year, we would be starting Data base under C++ and that subject is infamous for making students fail.
