Community Update: September/October 2023 computer programming contest winners
Hey there, geography enthusiasts! What did the rock say to the geographer? "Don't take me for granite!" 😄 Alright, no more dad jokes, I promise!
I'm thrilled to announce the winners of our latest computer programming contest, aptly named "Geography." We challenged our contestants to create a program that brings a fresh perspective to geography, whether it's revealing hidden patterns, spotlighting environmental issues, showcasing cultural heritage, or just having fun with geographic data. 🌎
But why do we host these contests? 🤔
Every two months, our dedicated Challenge Council volunteers organize a themed programming contest. This gives our community of budding programmers a platform to showcase their creativity and coding skills.
For instance, in our March/April contest, participants were asked to create a program that showcases a favorite recipe, explores the science behind cooking, or introduces innovative culinary technology. One winner created a Wordle-inspired culinary word game that featured clean, organized code, a fantastic GUI, and subtle animations! 🍽️👨💻
Now, let's navigate to our winners!
