There was an old course that I wanted to redo, but there was no reset button! I can't find any way to delete progress without deleting my account! I looked through some (really) old posts, but there wasn't any useful information! Then again, those posts were OLD, so if there is another way to reset a course's progress without resetting my account that I couldn't figure out, that would be great. Also, please contact me soon. Khan Academy currently offers no way to delete progress once it’s registered on the account, and this is actually intended to avoid scenarios in which users could lose actual progress due to misuse or malfunction of any kind.
So, even if you’ve practiced that subject before, you can always redo any exercises you’ve completed and watch any videos again, or simply continue from where you’ve left, whatever works best for you!
Now, if you'd really like to start from scratch, you can always create a new account. Just note that badges, points, and your streak would not transfer from one account to another since there’s no way to merge accounts or share progress between them.
If you prefer to keep your old account as it is, there’s another more laborious method for losing mastery: getting answers deliberately wrong. This is not recommended since it will not be a true reflection of your learning path. Besides, it might take a long time if you have mastered many skills.

I totally agree that there needs to be a delete progress option for teachers!! My students are special ed and do not have the ability to progress past certain levels - no matter how hard they try. Khan Rep's say that the students can retake the course, but they actually can't because it says they have a proficiency in the class. It truly is an aggravation. I LOVE Khan Academy but sadly will have to move on to something else for my kiddos.
What if Khan Academy added like an additional Area.
Example I already completed 3rd grade math. I would like to complete it again from the start, a new OPTION would appear for 3rd grade math (3rd Grade +) with areas for me to master again, just for myself, and it would start from the beginning again, while keeping the original. Additionally could change the colors, that could indicate I achieved it again.
As a teacher testing out the Chemistry course, I find it very frustrating that I can't reset my "progress." I'm not a student, I'm not accountable to a teacher, I'm just doing a test-run on your app and would like to be able to do demonstrations for different groups of students on my own account -- obviously this would work far better if I could reset.
Teachers should be able to reset their own and their students' progress.

Currently, my progress applies across all my classes. It would be helpful to have a class-specific “teacher whiteboard” tab, where my work is isolated to that particular class. For example:
• If I teach four classes, each class would have its own set of data that only applies to students in that class.
• My general profile remains unchanged, but within the class whiteboard, I can reset progress, complete assignments, or demonstrate topics—keeping everything tied to that class.
• Each year, when I add a new class, I would start fresh with new data for that group while maintaining records for previous years.
This feature would allow teachers to model concepts and track their engagement in a way that’s relevant to each unique class without affecting their overall account data.
Even:
When teachers add a new class, they could have the option to toggle a “Sandbox Mode” for their work in that class.
• All activities completed by the teacher in Sandbox Mode (e.g., solving problems, completing videos, or taking quizzes) are stored as progress tied only to that specific class.
• This ensures the teacher’s general profile progress is unaffected, and each class gets a clean slate.
At the end of the school year, teachers can archive a class and automatically reset their Sandbox data for a fresh start with a new group of students. Past Sandbox data would remain accessible in archived classes for review if needed.
To keep things organized:
• Teacher View: Includes tools for solving problems and marking completions in real time during class.
• Student View: Allows students to see their own progress but doesn’t show the teacher’s Sandbox Mode activity.
The Sandbox Mode could function as a “layer” on top of existing progress-tracking features, requiring minimal changes to the core platform. A toggle button for teachers (e.g., “Enter Sandbox Mode”) ensures they can switch between teaching and personal progress effortlessly.
This would allow teachers to model and demonstrate topics for specific classes while maintaining clarity in their own progress and seamlessly transitioning to new classes each year.
