Incomplete Video Markings

When I skip a part of a video in Khan academy, even 10 seconds, it results as being marked incomplete. This issue is particularly bothersome when the skipped material is easy to understand. It's important to keep in mind that some users may skip the entire video may cause them to miss essential information. To address this concern, a possible solution could be to require users to watch at least 80-90% of the video before it's considered complete. This way, they can still skip through sections they already know but will have to engage with most of the content.

Hi Sara,

This is the intended behavior of the videos, they will only be marked as completed if watched completely, without skipping even a second of it.

Instead of skipping parts of the videos, you can edit the playback speed in the video. You can set it to 2x and the video will still be marked as completed in the end. For more information, please take a look at the article Why aren’t videos showing as completed in my profile?

Wouldn't it be sensible to allow an option for "mark as watched" so that independent learners can easier track their progress without confusion from the UI?

I don't believe that would impact the progress tracking, as to my knowledge it doesn't count at all towards course completion, but is purely a user convenience change.
