Modeling with sinusoidal functions

Hi Amicus, I can relate to what you are saying - I found trigonometric functions a bit of a stumbling block for many years. What really helped me was discovering that I could model functions myself in the CS section here at Khan Academy. 

I understand that learning to program while learning math if you are short of time is not going to be a good option for you. However, it may be that someone else in the CS community has already created a program which does what you are looking for. If you could explain what sort of function(s) you want to model, you could ask if anybody knows about such a program in the CS section.

This old program of mine could easily be modified by me to display the coordinates of the unit circle as the ellipse moves in a circle, and to circle more slowly, but I don't know if that's what you want.

Thanks. Yes as a help to me and other up and coming graphers i want an example of, or to be shown how to graph sin/cos func from  form asin(bx-c)+d) to the xy axis  in the the 'show me an example/hint' section under the problem (at least by hint #4).

Hi Jeremy, CS is short for Computer Science. I could not really help Amicus, because what he (based on gender of latin word...) wanted was including it in the structure of the Khan Academy official learning material. That I cannot do, nor can any peer on Khan Academy.

If you are looking for demonstrations which open separately from the "show me a hint", that is a different matter. What sort of trig functions are you wanting to play with to see how they change?

Hello Inger, thank you for the reply. I am interested in practicing using the graphing tool for answering problems because I believe that not understanding how to use it properly has held me back from moving on with my studies on Khan Academy. I guess my inquiry about using the graphing tool is not limited to only trig functions, but would include any graphing function. I enjoy using tools like that because they help to create a visual practicality to an otherwise abstract and thus out of view idea, which helps to cement the lessons in my mind! This is just a draft. I have not included a menu, haven't included all sorts of functions and have not made the program interactive with buttons or mouse movement to control the parameters (yet).
Please tell me what sort of features/information you think would be helpful for visualizing the graphs.
