an eog question

So, 2/3 of some students are wearing blue jeans. This means 2/3 of some group.

Of that fraction of the group, 2/6 of them are wearing red shirts. You're looking for 2/6 of 2/3. Multiply those to get the answer, 2/9 after simplification.

So, is my answer 4/9 wrong?

I am sorry, I posted my answer wrong. I knew it was 2/9, but I along with a few of my classmates were trying to figure out why it was a multipli-cation problem. We knew it wasn't adding, subtracting, or dividing, but could not figure out why it was multiplying.

When finding a fraction of a fraction, you would multiply.
