Any Other Adult Learners Here?

I am 50 and while I am still working on University training, I would not be nearly as far without Khan and I googled this question in hope of learning more on this topic as well. I struggled with math for many years and while I did well in other university topics, math was a nightmare. I have super high math anxiety because I have so many gaps in my education. As a child I was pulled out of classes a lot, leaving me with many gaps that prevented me from mastering skills and I was basically passed along year after year with a poor foundation. When I as an adult took University courses I struggled in math and found Khan. I have been watching videos as needed by topic and then started at the VERY beginning with Early math and have been taking mastery challenges and working through skills. 

I want to ensure I find and fill EVERY gap, such that I eventually master Algebra but I would love some pointers on the best way to get going so that I can make the best use of this world class resource. 

Eric, I appreciate your post. I can relate. In high school, I went through numerous changes in teachers in math studies and I was not disciplined. By the time I went to college I was way behind. However, I did very well but I struggled.
I believe that math should be fun but I have not found many programs designed that way.

I need help with the best way to start teaching myself math so that I can go back to college. I am 60 years old and grew up in the south during desegregation. I went to 8 different schools k-8 and got lost in math with all of those changes in schools. I want to finish my degree but dropped out of college 40 years ago because of the math. I will need to take the college entrance math test. Would it be better to just start with the beginning class or try to study and skip ahead?

im 27 and when i was in say grade 7 for everything else, my math was in a grade 4 state. :( i was never able to grasp the concept of division, algebra, area and perimeter, heck everything just about. if i never found out about this trying to learn code i would not have been able to get more help in my math either! :D

I'm in my twenties and I'm using Khan Academy too.I stopped being good at math around middle school.

Now, as an adult I want to go into fields of work that require strong math skills. So, I'm starting from almost the beginning (so it feels like) and trying to work my way up to Linear Algebra.
