how do you master a unique skill?

The wording can be confusing, but unique skill just means any Math Skill. A math skill is a concept in math, like multiplying fractions, quadratics, or subtraction. You can view all Math skills here, click “Show all skills” to view a grid:

@Dana Arenas Valentin - Watching videos does not get you mastered in skills.

@Boyuan Huang - If you mastered skills by taking Unit Quizzes or Unit Tests, then you used the new mastery system. The badges that can be earned by mastering unique skills are tied into the old mastery system (mission) not the new one.

Khan Academy does really need to revise the badge award systems to tie in with the newer unit mastery system rather than the old mission system.

I mastered 250 math skills, but I have no badges for "unique skills". 

You get unique skills by filling a bar in math. When I mean filling one it means getting it to the really top. And you can get unique skills by using the Unit test.

I have all of the sun badges except 3.

I will tell you this they are pretty hard to get.

You just have to do unit challenges. They are really helpful.

Try clicking on your badges (next to your energy points) and then click “Check for new badges and avatars.”

Keep striving and master more skills!

Magellan is a sun badge when you master 100 skills

everyone, mastering a skill counts as a unique skill, look at my profile, i got productive because i got 15 skills mastered, i think you have to do it on maps accelerator, but im not sure

WUT IS A SKILL? ON MY OTHER ACCOUNT I MASTERED 3 SKILLS AND STILL DIDN'T GET JUST GETTING STARTED, EVEN THOUGH THIS ACCOUNT I ALREADY MASTERED MAGELLAN.

I think that it depends on how you mastered them. If you did it the old way, through the missions, then you should be getting credit, and the appropriate badges, for mastering these skills. If you did it the new way, through taking unit tests, I'm not sure if this gives you the credit for the badges. If this is the case, as part of the transition to the new way of earning mastery, the way that credit for badges is computed needs to be changed to take this into consideration.
