Help with an undocumented JS function

I already submitted a help request, but didn't get any answers on how to use intersect().

Hello. I hadn't seen this function before so I found it an interesting challenge to figure out what it was. Here's the code for the function. This can be found just by doing

It's a bit abstract with the meaningless variable names and no comments, especially when you don't even know what it's supposed to do. Essentially what it does is check if 2 AABBs (axis-aligned bounding boxes) intersect. 

The AABBs are defined by 8 numbers, 4 for each box, 2 for each vertex:

intersect(xa1,ya1,xa2,ya2,xb1,yb1,xb2,yb2)

each box is defined by two vertices; the top left vertex and the bottom right vertex. This function will return false if any of the top left vertices aren't in the top left relative to the other vertex of the AABB.
