I'd love the ability to assign lessons (exercises, videos, articles) directly from my Coach Dashboard without having to dig through the content to find what I want to assign. Here are my ideas and thoughts.
I'm imagining a filter/search function, similar to the one currently used, that returns content that I can view and assign in seconds.
Using the tool above is an incredibly easy way to quickly find Math lessons to assign, because I get to see which students need practice at a glance, and assign if needed! Why not use the same filter for ALL Khan Academy content?! If this could be added, less required effort and greater efficiency would most certainly be more attractive to and easier for KA teachers!
In addition to adding all content to the filter, it needs to be displayed; the current method of displaying Programming progress is fine! At the moment, I really like the setup of non-math missions/subjects. You get to view all the videos, articles, and exercises in one big list, which could be used for any other topic on KA. This means for the "Mission" filter, all subjects need to be on the list.
All that needs to be done is add the rest of KA lessons to the filter, display student progress in those lessons on the bottom right like you see, and allow coaches to click those lessons for more info. I am not able to view the lessons on the bottom right area there, it would be great if they were clickable and assignable all from there. Here is an example of what the tools would look like when viewing progress for Chemistry of life:
(I used Inspect element for this example)
If the developers need any help, just know I am an experienced programmer and would gladly help build this.
These changes aren't really that big of an overhaul, since the framework is all there, so I really hope this is considered. The process of assigning will be much more efficient and teacher friendly! Thanks for reading!
