Thanks to those of you who have commented! :) My passion has not waned...a month has passed and I am 56% through 8th grade now...it is really giving me the smack-down but I am up to the challenge. It is hard to believe that 8th grade is full of so much difficulty. I don't remember any of it either...I suspect that I never saw the vast majority of the topics that are currently kicking me in the teeth. I am so grateful to have the chance to learn all of this now in a way that is so easy to access and go over until I understand.

UPDATE: 11/19
I have finally finished 8th grade! Wow...there were some head-pounding challenges for me that took so many hours of repeated attempts and study to overcome (Some of the Linear Equations and Functions problems just about killed me!) but I kept at it until FINALLY I dragged myself over the finish line!! I'm off and running into High School now...what a boost to my motivation to discover that my prior studies have partially counted towards my High School missions so I don't have to start from 0%!! YAY! :)

I am 36yr old now, I love to learn new things that is why I can`t make up my mid weather or not to go from geometry to trig because my math knowledge on reached to algebra 1 level, and I plb need to go from algebra- to trigometry to algebra 1 and 2 to fully understand calculus, or to do the world of math mission which is random sums picked out by the world of maths itself and look up YouTube on what I need to know about that sum before moving on, constantly in the same section makes me tired because I like to learn new things, so I can`t make my mind up what way to do it, I love this sight so much, because I have a slight learning difficulty my disability it never stopped me from going to a mainstream school and living a life like any other not to sounds negative in anyway I had some help not a lot and I wasn`t treated any different, anyway I left because I was bullied they did offer me I could take my highters but I left because they were hard times long story, at first I prayed I would get better at subjects I wasn`t so good at, I couldn`t find none, so I gave up and when`t with my own life, since last yr I started to brows the web, I saw  Khan academy, gave it ago made a mistake on delete my old profile, but now I got back to things, I founds out by using Khan academy, iy has helped me with lots I never knew I could do things I could do, I never through I would be able to do algebra, and now I am at algebra level, Khan academy has put the faith in my in learning again after all these yrs, and now still I am trying to make my mind up to do it through the world of maths and use YouTube as to help me understand it or continue fro geometry and trigometry the algebra to gully understand calculus, or take the bull by the horn as they say. Sorry if I have it in the wrong place or I have already wrote, it.

Thanks for your wonderful message, Pauline! I think that you should spend a couple of hours playing in geometry and a couple of hours in trig to see which one is more fun and interesting for you. Then you can decide which to focus on first. That's what I would do, anyway! :)

I finally got to algebra one level I through to understand trigometry I need to master geometry first, even being down the same subject can be tiresome to me but I still love it, and some of algebra 1 has rise over run and slop intercept forum, so I  started to master geometry, then trigometry it might help me understand and calculate slop intercept form and stuff like that, I think maybe geometry and trigometry is the basics of maths then back to algebra 1 and 2, unless I should do differential equations and liner algebra first it might help me understand equations and slopt line intercept stuff better, but algebra 1 teachers you how functions work and how to use them, so I guess which way might work. I need to go up by ;evel to fully understand something.

Except for trying to get through the new Mastery system (added after the original poster Janet posted her updates), I have found Khan Academy’s math program to be like a game for me. I am an adult learner who is relearning what I learned in high school and college years ago. I even went back to kindergarten and other elementary levels to fill in some gaps and to get new insights on what I learned earlier. By mid-2019, I expect to move on to science, where I had very little education in high school and college.

One math course I haven’t done here yet is Math for fun and glory. It does not have either a mission or the new mastery system associated with it, so it really sounds like fun and games. I will probably do it simultaneously with a science course. Right now, I am working on Multivariable calculus. I’ll be moving on to science when I finish this one (which is going to be a while). The one other math course I haven’t done yet is Differential equations. Again, I may do that one at the same time as a science course.
