How do I change my settings in Khan Academy Reimagined?

Your Settings page is where you can manage your account and customize your Khan Academy experience.

To open Settings, select Settings from the navigation menu.

Account

The Account tab lets you manage your basic account information and connected accounts.

Basics

From the Basics section, you can:

  • Update your display name (available for students ages 13 and older)
  • Select your state from the dropdown menu

Note: Students under 13 cannot edit their display name. If your account is managed by your school, some information may also be locked.

Password

Students ages 13 and older can change their password by entering their current password and choosing a new one.

Students under 13 will see a message letting them know that a parent or guardian must log in to change their password.

Parent/Guardian

You can connect one parent or guardian to your account by entering their email address and selecting Send request to connect.

Only one parent or guardian can be connected at a time for privacy reasons.

User ID

Your User ID is displayed for reference and cannot be edited.

Linked Accounts

The Linked Accounts section shows any accounts connected to your Khan Academy account.

Personalization

The Personalization tab lets you customize how Khan Academy looks and behaves.

Video play options

Choose how videos play throughout Khan Academy.

Available options include:

  • Autoplay videos
  • Turn captions on or off by default

Primary language

Choose the language Khan Academy displays in.

This changes the language used for menus, instructions, and other interface text. Some content may not be available in every language.

Accessibility

The Accessibility section includes settings that can help customize how you interact with content.

Khanmigo

The Khanmigo tab contains settings for students who have access to Khanmigo.

If Khanmigo is available for your account, you can choose which voice Khanmigo uses when reading responses aloud.

If Khanmigo is not available for your account, you'll see a message letting you know that Khanmigo is currently disabled for your classes.

Looking to customize Khanmigo?

Visual customizations such as accessories and outfits are not managed in Settings. To customize Khanmigo's appearance, select your Gem count in the upper-right corner of your dashboard to open Collections.

Notifications

The Notifications tab lets eligible students manage email notifications.

Students ages 13 and older can manage their notification preferences. If your email address hasn't been verified yet, you'll be prompted to verify it before changing your notification settings.

Students under 13 do not have access to email notifications and will see a message explaining that notifications become available after they turn 13.

Classes

The Classes tab shows the classes you're enrolled in.

From this page, you can:

  • View your enrolled classes
  • Select Add a class to join another class
