How can I preview my students’ experience in Khan Academy Reimagined?

If you’re part of Khan Academy Reimagined and want to see what your students will experience, there are two types of previews available:

Previewing the student learning queue and site navigation

To preview how your students will see and interact with their learning queue experience:

• Select a class from your teacher dashboard.
• Go to the Assignments tab.
• Click Student preview.

This will show you what your students see in their learning queue, including how assignments are organized, how they navigate through them, and what assignments are showing as completed on their end. 

Previewing the Khan Academy content you’re assigning to students 

There are different ways to preview the content depending on whether your are just browsing Khan Academy content, are creating a new assignment, or are wanting to preview an assignment you've already made.

1. Browsing the Khan Academy Content: 

• Click the "Explore library" option in your lefthand menu to browse through Khan Academy content. 
• Click on any link to be taken to that Khan Academy course. Then you will see everything there is to offer in that course. 

• You can also search for a topic and Khanmigo will offer different relevant content items for you. 

2. Previewing new assignments before assigning:

• You'll see a preview option when you are making any time of assignment except for Writing Coach. 

• Here's where to find this preview option on the different eligible assignment types: 

  Mastery Mission:

  Khan Academy content items (videos, articles, exercises, quizzes, unit tests, course challenges):

Expand the course’s units to reveal individual items. Click any item title to open and preview it

• When available, you can click the "Show all questions" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen if you would like to see all the questions in the assignment. The "Show all questions" button is available only on exercises. 
  
  
• Khanmigo assignments:
  • Choose an activity, fill out the prompts, and then click Preview to see the full experience your students will interact with.
    
    

3. For existing assignments:

• Go to the Assignments tab
• Click the title of the assignment to open and preview the exact content your students will see. 
  
• Then you can interact with the assignment itself, just as your students would. You can also do this through clicking the "Student preview" button 
• When available, you can click the "Show all questions" button if you would like to see all the questions in the assignment.  The "Show all questions" button is available only on exercises.
