My students can’t link their accounts to College Board because the website says they’re under 13. How do I update their birthdates?
Accounts for users under 13 years old have certain restrictions to protect their privacy. For example, under-13-year-old users are unable to connect their accounts to College Board.
That said, it could be that you have a student who is no longer under 13, but their account is still a child account. As a teacher, you can change their birthdate and allow the student to connect their account to College Board.
The first thing you should do is update your settings and confirm you are a teacher associated with a school. To do that, click on your name in the top right corner of the page and select the Settings option in the drop-down menu.
In your Settings page, scroll down until you find the Teacher confirmation section and check the “I am a teacher…” box. Please carefully read the requirements before making this selection.
Once you have confirmed you are a teacher, it is time to find the student in your class. Go to your Teacher Dashboard by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the page once more and selecting it from the drop-down menu.
Choose the class in which the student you want to change the birthdate for is enrolled.
In that class, go to the Students section under the Admin menu. From there, click on the student for whom you wish to modify the settings.
When you click a student's name, you’ll be taken to their student page. You’ll see the Settings tab right next to Assignments at the top of their student page. Click on it to be taken to the student’s settings.
Once there, you can change the student's birthdate. Be sure to click Save changes once you’re done.
