LearnStorm 2018 has started!

LearnStorm has begun! Starting this week, as students complete the assignments you make on Khan Academy, enrolled classes will earn progress and unlock levels on a special LearnStorm tracker!

Teachers can begin using LearnStorm with your classes anytime. When you’re ready, follow the steps below:

1. Create assignments for your classes. Assign personalized practice and research-backed growth mindset activities to students by selecting from Khan Academy’s library of standards-aligned videos, articles, and practice problems across subjects, grades, and skill levels. We recommend making about five assignments per student per week. If you are new to making assignments on Khan Academy, these guides can help.
2. Check progress on your LearnStorm tracker. Once your students have completed some assignments, display the LearnStorm tracker to your class. You can access it anytime by clicking the “Check my progress!” link in the LearnStorm banner on your teacher dashboard. Try out the LearnStorm Tracker demo to see what it’s like to earn progress and unlock levels in LearnStorm. Note: You cannot rewind levels or celebrations on your LearnStorm tracker, so be sure your students are watching when you check for progress!  
3. Keep going! Keep growing! Your classes can earn an unlimited number of levels in LearnStorm. Set a goal with your class or spark a friendly competition with the class across the hall. You’ll discover special surprises hidden in your LearnStorm tracker along the way! For ideas on how to make LearnStorm more competitive or collaborative, check out our rules and resources pages.  

Caution: Checking for progress in LearnStorm can prompt spontaneous classroom celebrations! Share pictures or videos of your students celebrating using #LearnStorm on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
