How can I change the default language that Khanmigo responds in?



You can access your Khanmigo Settings at any time through 2 ways: 

  1. Adjusting the option on your Khanmigo Settings page on your Learner Home
  2. Clicking the three dots in the purple bar at the top of the chat box or Activities page, followed by the "Preferences" link

Here you can adjust your Khanmigo reading style and language, and access your chat history and interests.

Note that the language setting feature is still under development, so there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Khanmigo will respond to your writing in the language that you've selected, but the initial prompts and speech bubbles from Khanmigo will NOT be translated, even after you update this setting.

2. For this reason we also recommend not clicking the preset speech bubbles in order to start a conversation with Khanmigo. Starting a conversation by typing in your selected language instead will provide a more reliable experience. We plan on improving these flows over the coming months.

3. Currently this setting will only apply to conversations within "learner" activities (including the chatbot tutor experience on content pages), meaning teacher-focused activities will remain in English

4. Right now the only languages available with this setting are English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
