Improve Timed Mini Sections
I've been studying for my SAT on here for a long time now, and something I want to bring to light is a lack of user input when it comes to the Timed Mini Sections. The Timed Mini Sections are great, and they continue to be the best way I learn new material. What I propose is a method to change the number of questions for a mini section, as well as a choice of many minutes the timer lasts. The system would run off an algorithm that would calculate a recommended timer for the number of questions selected, but the user could change this timer to practice working faster.
For example: Instead of a Timed Mini Section for reading being only 1 passage long, the user could select 3 passages to read. The algorithm would spit out a recommended time for them, being roughly 39 minutes. However, this student wants to practice their speed, so they change their timer to being only 35 minutes long.
This would provide major benefits to students. As of how the system works right now, the only time when you are required to quickly move from one passage to the next under a timer is during a practice test. This would give students the opportunity to practice transitioning quickly between passages without taking a full test. For math as well, 10 questions for a mini section are helpful but they don't help build up stamina. If I could practice 20 questions for the non-calculator math section, I would feel much more prepared to go into both a practice test and a real test.
