Will Course Mastery work receive credit when Assigned as a classroom assignment?

If you assign Course Mastery Goals for a course that students are already working on, their goal will automatically update to match their current mastery percentage in that course.

However, assigning specific content (exercises, videos, etc.) behaves a little differently. If you assign an exercise, for example, that the student has already mastered (either via the exercise directly or the unit quiz/test), the student will not automatically receive credit for the assignment. i.e. They will need to re-do the exercise in order for the assignment to be marked as complete and for a score to show up on your teacher dashboard.

This is intentional in order to allow teachers to assign the same content multiple times, as well as for teachers who may need to assign content from previous grade levels that students have already completed.

For students who are working ahead, one option is to assign the content to those students only and then add the other students once they have progressed that far. Alternatively, you can assign content as the majority of the class progresses, and then have the students who are ahead show you their screen (or send a screenshot) to show that they have completed the content that you assigned.
