Integrating Physical Exercise & Nutrition
I think it is possible to bring P.E. into Khan Academy in two forms. One for students from K-12 with maybe a parent Guide where K-12 are able to do with the kids in order to build healthy Fitness and Nutrition Guides and under Life Skills Teach aged based Fitness and Nutrition Guides. The idea is to introduce kids, teens, and adults to the most basic functions of the body and the muscles that sustain it and work your way through a basic body weight total body fitness plan in order to help build healthier and stronger members at home.
I got inspired by the articles I found in https://www.rehabmypatient.com/articles after seeing the many categories it had and how each muscle was well defined and portrayed with simple at home exercise that help you grow and understand most functioning muscles in the body including fingers, back, face, neck, and all other major muscles. For Example: https://www.rehabmypatient.com/face/orbicularis-oculi. This program can slowly present itself in K-12 by introducing 2-4 muscles each year, but may require some research in order to structure the Life Skills One.
Along with this is Nutrition which was inspired by a book called The Business Plan for the body by Jim Karas after I found that 3500 calories equals a pound and realized how simple it is to find and track your progress by simply subtracting calories in and out. It possible to teach K-12 the basic fundamentals of dieting and nutrition in a way that evolves from understanding food to learning how it passes in and out of the body and slowly growing the understanding to better intake the information on Macros and even get into Vitamins, Medication, and Supplements and Local Market Food Research and even cooking recipes for basics in eating for those students heading out of high school and into college life.
