Completed Work Not Registering With Khan Academy?

Hello!

I am new to homeschooling this year due to Covid. We originally started paying for a program, but have since switched to this amazing website because the kids all hated and were more bored by the other one. Everything was going smoothly, but the past couple weeks both kiddos are telling me they are completing work that on my end I see as incomplete. My first instinct is that they are either making a mistake or lying - probably both. But since they live in different houses and do not talk to each other I want to cover my bases before accusing them of lying. Is anyone else having this problem? It says the same thing on both my educator account and their student account. They are telling me that they have watched the videos and answered the questions and it says they have not. It seems strange to me that random assignments here and there would not register and then a full days work for one of them won't, but it's fine for the other. Thank you for input you can offer.

Hi!

I have this same issue. I wish I had input on how to troubleshoot that, but I came here to see if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. In my experience, I have witnessed students working on this platform with my own eyes. I could see on their screens the videos they were watching and the exercises they were working on. But when I checked it on my educator account, it didn't register any of it. At first I thought it was a time delay between their platform interaction and the system updating itself, but there was still nothing when I checked days later. I hope there is a way to troubleshoot it, or that it's a simple system bug Khan fixes soon.

It's not exactly helpful for me since I can pretty much rule out all of those reasons. I might just submit a support ticket.

I would suggest supervising at least two days. I have used Khan Academy for over 6 years, and it's always been extremely reliable. The only instance in which my numbers disagreed with theirs was when a child was doing multi-digit multiplication; I knew the child was doing the work on paper, but because the mouse didn't move for over 20 minutes, KA thought the child had left the screen on, so my stopwatch for the day was longer than their credited time. However, as long as both power and internet are working, we've never had a problem with assignments submitting.

In order for videos to count as completed, the students do have to watch all the way to the end. Articles are counted as completed as soon as they are opened. Exercises are scored one answer at a time, so it is impossible to do a full exercise and not have a record, provided that the student is signed into the right account.
