Math Question
Can anyone help me with collinear lines because I am having some trouble? On the video with Sal explaining how to do it, he only explains how to see if it's collinear if there are actually coordinate numbers instead of variables.

Hello carmen.williams!
Sorry for your problems! but then first of all:
Collinear simply means "Lying on the same line" This are said to bethree or more points if they lie on a single straight line, especially if they are related to a geometric figure such as a triangle,is sometimes called an axis.two points are trivally collinear sime two points determine a line.
(e.g) Points A,B and C lie on the line M, they are collinear.
-If you are to know if a line is collinear:
three or more points aif a slope of any two pairs of points is same. With three points A, B, and C, three pairs of points can be formed, they are AB, BC and AC. if the slope AB=slope of BC = slope of AC then A,B and C are collinearpoints.
Formula: if the A,B and C are three collinear points, then AB=BC=AC or AB=AC-BC orBC=AB or if the area of triangle is zero then the points (X1,Y1)(X2,Y2) and (X3,Y3) are collinear then, [X1(Y2-Y3)+X2(Y3-Y1)+X3(Y1-Y2)] = 0.
HOW YOU DO IT.
its kinda not easy but: like I said; Slope formula method to find that points are collinear, three or more points are colinear if:slop of any two pair of points is same, with three points A,B and C, three pair of points can be formed, they are: AB,BC and AC. if slope of AB= slope of BC = slope of AC, then A,B and C are collinear points.
THE MAIN THING YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND: " Collinear means three or more points lying on the same line "
-Hope you understand,
-Best Regards!
~Jessica.
