Please Help! Help Needed on Multiplying Mixed Numbers
So, the question was basically 1 1/5 of 1 1/2. I understand ONE way how to draw it with pizza slices: one whole slice (5/5) + 1/5 of a pizza & one whole slice (2/2) plus 1/2 of a pizza, which is 6/5 and 3/2 respectively, then leads you to get 1 4/5 or 9/5. The way I was trying to draw it was 2 circles, one that was 5/5 and the other 1/5. Then for the 1/5 pizza I drew 10 slices and shaded 1 area, for 1/10. Then for the whole, I drew 10 slices and shaded 5 to represent 5/10. If I add them together, I get 3/5, but I need 9/5. I am not sure what to do or if this is even a correct way of doing this. If it is not, please explain to me why it is not correct (Not because I do not believe you, I just want to know what I am doing wrong so I can comprehend it better)!
