Does anyone know if there's a difference between the non-scored and score sections? I was really disappointed in my latest practice test to see that on the analytical reasoning I nailed the first section, which ended up being un-scored, but then tanked on the second section that was scored. Are non-scoring sections typically easier and that's why I saw that? Is it just random and I got unlucky this time?

I would be happy to help answer this question!

Sometimes known as the “variable section” or the “experimental section,” the unscored section is used to evaluate questions being considered for future tests. Neither the questions nor your results will be shared with you in your score report.

Your real LSAT will also include unscored sections as well. It is used for experimental content that the LSAC is considering for future tests. We include this in our course to simulate the real test, but it is no indication of difficulty of the questions.

Top tip: Since you won’t know which section is the unscored section, it’s important not to waste energy trying to guess which one it is. Do your best on all of the sections and treat each section as if it’s scored.
