Requesting HiSet/GED Test Prep Content
I'm lucky to have grown up with parents who supported my education. We don't all have that opportunity.
I just listened the the Preet interview and I got excited about the possibilities for my friend who's life has been constrained by the decision she made to drop out of high school 20 years ago. She's bright, she's capable, she's motivated AND she's POOR, She can not afford HiSet (previously GED)test prep.
I'm writing now because I've searched the Khan community history, and have seen a number of times when people have requested a GED option. Either I'm unable to find a Khan Academy response or there is not one.
Given all the Khan Academy stands for, and all the can bring to the world, how is it possible that this request continues to be ignored??!
Please...of all the ways you make a difference, and the wonderful things Khan's educational approach can bring, build a track for those adults who want a do-over! Those who are willing to take the time for the training, and can not afford the coursework.
Others have asked. It's so possible. And so important.
I have no known skills to make this happen, but I'm fearless and committed. If there's a volunteer needed to help make this happen, count me in.
Thank you for being a "yes" to this.
