Teachers: has your administration supported you using Khan academy?

Hi,

   So I have been using Khan Academy to teach javaScript for about 4 years now. This year my new(ish) principal stated that he did not want me to strictly use Khan Academy to teach from. He does not want me to use the videos and says that I can use it, but only as a supplemental tool. 

   Has anyone else run into something like this? I found the whole conversation bizarre and kind of insulting. Basically, while we are on it, I show the instructional videos, assign the challenges, and help the kids that need help. How do you all use it, especially for programming?
