Sending message to students directly from khan academy

Hi, Sandy! Yes, students can change their emails. They will need to head to the account settings page and press the email tab at the top. (https://www.khanacademy.org/settings/account) This will allow them to update emails as well as all other aspects of their accounts.

At this time I do not believe there is a way to message students directly. I will keep checking though. Do you use a platform such as Google Classroom along with Khan Academy? If so, you could assign Khan lessons through that interface along with instructions for each assignment. This would allow for full class announcements along with individual student notes. 

Additionally, you could copy and paste your student's e-mail addresses from your Roster tab into an e-mail.  Remember, when you assign something new, your students are notified via e-mail automatically as well.  

When school is in session, I use either google classroom or Microsoft Teams depending on the course. The problem is that students signed up for the khan academy account prior to the start 2018 - 2019 school year. As a result, many of the students are using a non school email. I was hoping to message students through Khan Academy to provide additional instructions about due dates. 

Thank you for your help in any case. I do have a question concerning the integration of Google Classroom and Khan academy. Are the  scores found in the Khan academy report integrated with Google classroom as well?

Mr. Phillips-Thank you for your suggestion. I did try emailing students from the email provided on the roster last week. I am not quite sure if the students are looking at their emails. ~Sandy

To my knowledge, Classroom does not pull scores directly from Khan. After giving an assignment, you could enter scores as you see appropriate in Classroom; but, at this time I believe they only "talk" when pulling rosters to establish classes and such.
